Losing the "attraction" to the Law of Attraction.

It's been over a year since I started "Attraction Hacker", and it has had its ups and downs. Over the past few months, it's been mostly DOWNS. There are numerous reasons- work, family, other interests, etc. But on reason stands out above all: I lost my attraction to the Law of Attraction.

It's not as though The LoA wasn't working, because in the few months after I started the blog, I went from 0 readers, to over 100 subscribers to my news feed. I was even making a few dollars a week from my Google ads and other affiliates. It was a nice feeling, and I even cyber-connected with others on the LoA journey. But then it stopped.

I'd like to imagine this happens to a lot of people. After the initial excitement wears off, you fall back into old ways and old mental patterns... and eventually, your unconscious mind starts attracting all the same old crap it did before you were practicing the Law of Attraction. How many people were moved by "The Secret", like I was, and are now back at square one?

The big question then becomes: How do you get back to that place of excitement? And my answer is: I don't know.

One thing that has helped me, though, is Joe Vitale's audiobook version of Zero Limits. In it, he discusses the Hawaiian healing technique known as "Ho'oponopono". While Vitale's "The Attractor Factor" is still my favorite of his books, Zero Limits is really good.

It had been months since I even thought about the Law of Attraction or The Secret or anything like that. Then, one of my wife's friends talked about going to a workshop teaching "Ho'oponopono", and it reminded me of Joe Vitale's talk last year, where he mentioned he was releasing a book on the subject. I went to Audible.com, sure enough, the book was available to download to my iPod.

I'd like to say that I was totally re-invigorated and all the old excitement came rushing back... but I can't. Things are better, to be sure. But I've still got a ways to go. And as the books says, I'm continuing to "clean".

Now... I, the "hacker", am asking anyone who stumbles across this post for their "hacks". What do you do or have you done, to stay on the Law of Attraction path?

Hello Attraction Hacker,

One of the ways that I am able to constantly remind myself about the power and beauty of Ho’oponopono is to constantly revisit the summary notes that I have made on Zero Limits. This enables me to remind myself to stick with my Ho’oponopono cleaning.

My summary notes can be found at:

I hope that you enjoy them, and find them to be of great value to you.

Kind regards,

We need to cultivate good mental habits. Do anything you can to stay focused - carrying a card in your wallet with your goal written on is a good method - you will see it every time you open the wallet and it will reinforce the goal in your mind.

For me, I need to accept that there are always ups and downs. It seems to me that the Law of Attraction is not the answer to any of life's challenges... it is a mechanism, a process. It is the way things work. This just leads me onto many other paths.

I think the key is to connect with your spirit. Find what stirs your passions. And let it flow and change.

Remember what Abraham-Hicks says - you never get it done, and you never get it right. The point is finding Joy along the way.

Happy Hacking my friend. Looking forward to you getting back on your path!

The law of attraction works if you understand it.

What you get from most of the books and other stuff out there is marketable confusion to keep you coming back.

It's very simple once you understand it.

If the moneymakers told you the facts about LOA they wouldn't sell any material because the moment they told you the reality of it you would realise that you already know everything you need to know.

This does happen indeed and I think that it's a matter of understanding that the law of attraction is not a tool or a program, it's a law that operates in the universe and us being excited about it or not doesn't change the fact it's there. So, it's natural to become excited when we first discover that everything is possible - pretty much like everything that's new - and then it's also natural that this excitement tends to fade away when this knowledge becomes just another piece of the puzzle, integrated with everything else we know and is no longer perceived as something new. However, once we remind ourselves about the wonderful things we created when we DID feel excited about it (assuming you manifested good things in your life), then that reminder serves as a conduit to bring us back on track.

With that in mind, let me say that what you're describing happened to me too and there are 2 things I want to point out from my experience:

1. Part of this is our ego doing. I could go on and on about the reasons why our ego moves on to the next thing, but each person needs to figure out their own ego based reasons for themselves.

2. For me, what always gets me back on track are 2 things:
a. Keeping proof of my manifestations somewhere visible, constantly reminding me of what is possible and that it's ok to explore other things as long as I don't completely abandon the practices that made those things possible. Whether I'm excited about the law of attraction or not. I have found my own way to do this, which in my case is to keep a "manifestation board" in both physical and electronic form. This has a very powerful ability to keep the magic alive to some extent. To me, it brings back the feelings of excitement from when I first discovered the law of attraction.
b. Going back to the material that put me on this path in the first place in whichever form (books, blogs, videos, movies, audio, etc), which usually leads me to other resources that add on to the information I already have.

All that said, no matter what, you need to follow what feels right to you. So you might not be very excited about the law of attraction right now for WHATEVER reason (which could simply mean you don't want to focus as much in expanding your knowledge at this particular time because you want to focus on something else or explore something else), but that doesn't change the fact that you are aware of what you already learned. And that's perfectly ok for most people, HOWEVER, since you keep a blog about the law of attraction, this might be creating some resistance around the fact that perhaps you feel like you have a public commitment to talk about it, thus implying you need to feel excited about it. If you're not, there's your conflict. And it pushes you further away.

I don't know, I'm just throwing in some thoughts based on my experience because I also run a blog about the law of attraction and this has happened to me to some extent, so I'm sharing my insights - whether they apply to your case or not, only you can tell. Still, the way I resolved this within myself was: I'll write about it when it feels right and when I feel inspired to do so. It doesn't matter to me that the blog receives less frequent updates and loses readership over time because, first, I'm not doing this for readership, I'm doing it to share knowledge and to make a contribution. And second, I'll be doing a lousy job in making that contribution if I start doing it out of a place of resistance and obligation instead of from a place of inspiration. I can still be aware of the law of attraction and attract either by default or intentionally depending on where I'm putting my focus, and I take responsibility for the results I get - hey, I'm still aware that the law of attraction is operational. But that doesn't mean I need to remain constantly excited about it or make it public all the time through my blog.

So, sorry for the long comment, but I thought I'd share my experience. I hope it sheds some light on your issue there.

The key to getting all of this to work is remembering that effective change comes incrementally. The very nature of the Law of Attraction suggests that thoughts attract thoughts. With this in mind, we cannot expect to immediately shed years and years of thought patterns. It is natural that after a brief honeymoon period that old thoughts would resurface. For me the key has been to incorporate exercises into my everyday life that is slowly and surely changing my point of attraction.

I use Esther Hicks' Ask and It Is Given as a guidebook, because it gives many tools to use in daily life to raise one's point of attraction. I actually took the processes that worked best for me and wrote their names on a card that I keep in my pocket. If I get to a point in the day where I realize that I do not feel so connected to this new way of thinking, I pull the card out and pick the process that best suits the moment. It usually just reminds me to do a quick 30 second visualization or to do the pivot process, but there are many others to choose from.

Using this, I am able to sort of practice this stuff throughout the day.

As said in the Secret, the people who have mastered all of this have done so because they have habitualized methods of change. IMO, this is the key to making LOA work.

I think we sometimes get caught in our minds and start judging the outcomes. If you're looking for serendipity it's almost never there but If you choose freely while focusing on what you want, your desires, stuff begins to just happen.

For me it's about discovering more about my own psychologies and beliefs and wanting to realize my own consciousness of abundance ie there is no real lack in the world outside of a perception of lack in our minds.

Keep choosing guys,
Grant

Becoming a Master of the Law of Attraction is simple a matter of having a definitive plan to follow, clearing yourself of any limiting beliefs you have towards what you intend to attract and then (this is where most come up short) practicing. You must learn to use the law in all aspects of your life, everyday, if you wish to become proficient at using it.

Hi,

I've never been here before so, firstly, kudos on your site.
Secondly, don't forget that the law of attraction is working the whole time. By thinking that you have lost your attraction to it, you are recreating that very thing. Why don't you try meditating on getting re-excited about it and setting and then reaching huge goals in your life?

Keep more than one project going, and remember to be grateful to the universe for all your success. I attracted the woman of my dreams and we had a perfectly wonderful 12 years together. No fights, not even one cheap shot, but a terminal illness attacked her about 4 years ago and finally took her last fall. I have her pictures up on my walls and on my computers as wallpaper, and I talk with her every day.

I began this practice accidentally about 50 years ago, and didn't even recognize what was going on until about 20 years back. Another great benefit has been learning hands-on healing which I use fairly frequently since I am an athlete and frequently have various bumps or soreness to heal up.

If you're having trouble keeping your practice going, visualize that improvement to attract that future state, just as you would attract anything else. Remember that the best times to envision are just after awakening and just before falling asleep.
