@Eric: I was mostly refering to MySpace as far as negative energy, namely the quasi-pornographic profiles/spammers and all the "drama". Though, the "drama" is user-created, so it's not MySpace's fault.

With MBL, the "negativity" I feel comes from things like people putting an attractive woman in their avatar, just so people click on their profile. I would never expect MBL to police something like that... as it's just my personal opinion, and I value freedom of expression. I instead just choose to ignore that element. Otherwise, I absolutely LOVE MyBlogLog... and I'm on it many times throughout the day.

Much obliged for the link love as well as for your comments on the idea! I think we've got you covered on each of those bases:

1) Clean, simple, functional design - Yes! In fact, keeping it simple was one of the first things that went on the "must have" list.
2) 97% Spam Free - That is the plan! In fact, we'll shoot for an even higher percentage.
3) Fewest possible clicks - Absolutely. Again, the interface itself is going to be very easy to navigate and non-cluttered.
4) Recent readers widget - Yes, already in the design.

p.s. - I see Eric is here from MyBlogLog and I want to send a shout out. Eric - MBL is one of the coolest blog additions ever. There will always be people who try to take advantage of the system, but you guys do a good job of keeping it in check.

Yowza! Negative energy? Were working on the spam stuff but I don't even know the symptoms of negative energy. What can we do to make things more positive?
