Losing the "attraction" to the Law of Attraction.

It's been over a year since I started "Attraction Hacker", and it has had its ups and downs. Over the past few months, it's been mostly DOWNS. There are numerous reasons- work, family, other interests, etc. But on reason stands out above all: I lost my attraction to the Law of Attraction.

It's not as though The LoA wasn't working, because in the few months after I started the blog, I went from 0 readers, to over 100 subscribers to my news feed. I was even making a few dollars a week from my Google ads and other affiliates. It was a nice feeling, and I even cyber-connected with others on the LoA journey. But then it stopped.

I'd like to imagine this happens to a lot of people. After the initial excitement wears off, you fall back into old ways and old mental patterns... and eventually, your unconscious mind starts attracting all the same old crap it did before you were practicing the Law of Attraction. How many people were moved by "The Secret", like I was, and are now back at square one?

The big question then becomes: How do you get back to that place of excitement? And my answer is: I don't know.

One thing that has helped me, though, is Joe Vitale's audiobook version of Zero Limits. In it, he discusses the Hawaiian healing technique known as "Ho'oponopono". While Vitale's "The Attractor Factor" is still my favorite of his books, Zero Limits is really good.

It had been months since I even thought about the Law of Attraction or The Secret or anything like that. Then, one of my wife's friends talked about going to a workshop teaching "Ho'oponopono", and it reminded me of Joe Vitale's talk last year, where he mentioned he was releasing a book on the subject. I went to Audible.com, sure enough, the book was available to download to my iPod.

I'd like to say that I was totally re-invigorated and all the old excitement came rushing back... but I can't. Things are better, to be sure. But I've still got a ways to go. And as the books says, I'm continuing to "clean".

Now... I, the "hacker", am asking anyone who stumbles across this post for their "hacks". What do you do or have you done, to stay on the Law of Attraction path?

Ho'oponopono and Ice Cream

A couple of months ago, my wife and I saw Joe Vitale speak in Austin... and it was packed. He talked about a lot of stuff, but he mostly focused on the topic of his new book Zero Limits. He had heard about a prison in Hawaii with huge amount of inmate violence in the mentally-ill ward, and every therapist/counselor they brought in would quit after a couple of days. Then they brought in a man who never met with ANY prisoner, and would only seclude himself in his office for hours on end. Very soon after that, the violence in the prison was dramatically decreased... and eventually was eliminated.

Joe Vitale sought the man out, and found out about the ancient Hawaii therapeutic practice called Ho'oponopono.

Ho'oponopono (it's almost pronounced like 'Hoe-low POH-no POH-no') has come up a few times in my recent readings. One time in Shama Hyder's blog:

"I am sorry" and "Please forgive me" are two of the most powerful statements in our language. They are tools of empowerment. You are not becoming a victim when you say those sentences. You are taking back your power because you realize that you are the creator of your own experiences. You are not apologizing because you were wrong or because you feel guilty. The "I am sorry" is a way of putting the ego aside, and of letting your higher self neutralize the thought that is causing you problems.
Then just yesterday, the Secret DVD blog posted an excerpt from Vitale's upcoming book. You can also check out the Zero Limits website.

And what does any of this have to do with ice cream, you may ask? Nothing. But if you have a Ben & Jerry's shop near you, it's "Free Cone Day". One of my motto's is "Nothing helps clean out negative energy like free ice cream".

Many of the interviewees in The Secret will be on Larry King tonight, and while cable TV isn't TOTALLY free, it's pretty close. King's guests will be James Ray, Bob Proctor, John Assaraf, Dr. Joe Vitale, and Lisa Nichols... and will apparently be about the criticisms of The Secret.

If you don't have cable, don't worry. If the past is any indication, there will be plenty of copies floating around online after it airs. I'll make sure to post links to them here. Also, if you missed the past Larry King segments about The Secret, James Ray has them here.
